PST is coming back effective April 1, 2013.
There are some really key elements that businesses need to understand, particularly those in the construction industry. This program will cover the technical aspects of the process such as how to register, manage the PST process and reporting returns.
More importantly the program will also focus on the transition process for contractors and how to handle PST/GTS/HST on transition contracts and contracts that you are quoting now that won’t start until after April 1. Also there a number of other issues to be reviewed, these include taking advantage of the 12% HST Input Tax Credits rather than the 5% GST Input Tax Credits, what to do about current equipment and vehicles leases to save you money and how your overhead is going to increase so that you can change your mark ups to cover that additional cost and know how your sales dollars will also increase.
Those involved in accounting and estimating decision making need to participate in this program.
