Ron Coleman’s passion is helping trade and specialty contractors make more money and have more fun. 

His latest book Becoming Contractor of the Year epitomizes this passion. It is based on his analysis of more than 2,500 sets of financial statements of contractors and interviewing the owners of most of those businesses. This knowledge coupled with his academic background as a professional accountant and certified management consultant gives him a wealth of experience in helping contractors become more successful.

His numerous published education programs include four on-line programs for the Canadian Home Builders Association of BC – Financial Management; Marketing & Project Sales; Business Planning; Customer Service & Warranty. He has also written and delivers six Gold Seal programs for the Canadian Construction Association. He co-wrote and delivered a three-part Financial Management course for BCIT’s Construction Management Degree program.

Ronald has completed many inter-firm financial comparisons of groups of construction companies in both the USA and Canada and consulting to construction and manufacturing companies on a regular basis.

He is past chair (1992-1995) of the Board of Trustees of The Richmond Hospital ($65 Million budget), was vice chair of the Richmond Regional Health Board (1994-1996). He was a Special Ambassador to the 2010 Olympics, a Torch Bearer in Kelowna and inaugural chair of the Spirit of BC Richmond.
